NearShore Solutions successfully concludes migration of a legacy Enterprise Architecture Management Tool

Munich, July 2010

Starting in September 2009, NearShore Solutions migrated an Enterprise Architecture Management tool from MS Access to a ASP.Net based website with MS SQL Server database, updated the existing MS Access and MS Visio tools and make these work with the new application instance.

The project target was to provide scalable intranet access to the application, using up-to-date web technologies, and included the following tasks:

  • Migration of the Access DB to SQL Server, including DB data transfer
  • Migration of the Access frontend ASP.Net
  • Functionality export from SQL server for graphics support
  • Migration of existing scripts to Visio

The following tools and technologies were used:

  • C#
  • NHibernate 2.2.1
  • Nhibernate.Burrow 1.0
  • ASP.NET
  • .Net 3.5
  • Visual Studio 2008
  • SVN
