What will a computer OEM do, if one of his major customers asks for delivery of a significant number of laptops, which must run W2000 and with a hardware configuration, for which for some of the devices there is no W2000 compatible driver?
When Microsoft had for some time stopped support of W2K, and the device manufacturer cannot provide the driver either.
